The Spanish word “vecino” (pronounced “be SEE no”) translates into English as “neighbor,”  “local resident,” or “being immediately adjoining or relatively near,” according to Merriam Webster’s tenth edition of the Collegiate Dictionary.   The name of our association, “Vecinos de la Cholla,” perfectly describes our Cholla scenario;  we are all neighbors in Cholla Bay, some of us are full-time local residents, and some of us live very close to our neighbors, our homes in some cases adjoining.  What a perfect name for a great group of people!
